Hi to Everyone. I am new on these boards. I am thankful I found something like this. I am considering a relocation. And PEI seems to be my first pick. I guess some of my questions are weather. What is the weather like there? Typically, do you get alot of snow? What is the job situation like? I know buying houses are alot less then here in Ontario. Any information you can give me would be much appreciated.. Thanks :)

Welcome Dina.

PEI can be a great place to live in the summer but the winter can be bad. Loads of snow but this year, there hasn't been that much.

Welcome aboard.

Can you make coffee? The last coffee maker quit in a huff.

Lots of info here - www.gov.pe.ca/visitorsguide

Jobs - the bugaboo of the Island. What are your skill sets? This area is not job utopia - but sometimes you can luck out.

Phil

hey guys, thanks for the welcome.. Can I make coffee? Sure can, whats your specialty?? As far as jobs go.. Well as of now, i work at the us/can border in Niagara Falls. I am a customs broker. I will be attending college this coming fall. Because of the college strike going on, I haven't gotten word as to whether or not I got into my programs of choice. So i know I will be looking for something in terms of government/agency.. It all depends ..... both my program choices have similiarities.. so we will have to wait and see.. thanks for the replies, although I wasn't too fond on the idea of all the snow.. I hate snow..although this winter has been pretty mild here as well. iF I had my choie, i would be going to a Caribbean Island, but since I dont see that in my cards ( lack of citizenship, other then canada), looks like PEI is the closest thing to an island  .. Besides, hubby gets to retire this year, and I am going to continue working.. I am not ready for retirement yet.. too young for that

Yes you guessed it. I have seen my fair share of snow. This winter was unusually mild. We usually get blasted in February, but we went away for almost the whole month.. when we got back, we got dumped on for a day.. so it makes it a little harder driving to work :) I commute 30 minutes one way. Now I heard from someone that PEI doesn't get as much snow as we do here in Ontario, and when it does snow.. it doesn't stick as much.... True or Falso?
