Now this explains why so many administrators left UPEI soon after he arrived.

All of them knew what he was like, and didn't want to be complicit... Or just couldn't tolerate it.

So you know "all of them"?
Where are you getting your information from?

I work at UPEI and I know all of them, but didn't understand what was going on. I don't have first hand knowledge of what happened of course, I'm just starting to put the pieces together. Waiting to see how it will unfold and if any information will come out. I hear a rumour that he did this at another university but left before there was any consequence.

Nothing then.
Yet you felt the need to start a thread to disparage the man.

Presumably that is the story the OP was referring to. It's been out for a couple of days now.

Well it's one of those cases where I know the accusers, and I support them. If it's disparaging to the president, so be it. People should know and stop protecting him and his image. Let the truth be told.

Let the truth be told.
If it is in fact the truth.
By your own admission you don't have any first hand knowledge.

I don't have first hand knowledge of what happened. However, today I did find out who the accusers are, and they are very upstanding, professional, respected women who I know personally. They have much better and more important things to do than make false accusations and defame somebody's character. I believe they would not do this unless it really happened and it needed to be reported for the greater good.

If he's not suspended or placed on administrative leave then I don't see it as being all that bad.

My prediction is that the university will paint Alaa Abd-El Azis as the victim in this situation and throw the accusers under the bus.

I don't think the university is going to throw anyone under the bus. They will likely keep pretty quiet on the matter until an investigation is complete.

This is what you posted in the KISH thread.

Quote:
I find it hard to believe that a teacher, let alone a principal, would take such a big risk for some sexual gratification. His career as a teacher and his life in this province are over.

Why would you have such a hard time believing that a high school principal would do such a thing.....and in this thread you are sure that the UPEI President is guilty? :?

Notwithstanding how different the two cases are, it is hard to understand how or why anyone in a position of authority would do something so risky to their personal and professional reputation. However, it happens often. I'm just interested in the psychology of it all. I don't know anything about the guilt of either of the men accused, but I do tend to side with with the [alleged] victims in these cases... unless there is a compelling reason not to.

I find it a little odd that this story didn't "break" until the president of UPEI left the country. He is currently in Egypt with Robert Ghiz. Probably means nothing, but the timing, was it just a coincidence? Here is the guardian story that states he is in Egypt:
