I've heard there are some wild Lynx near Montague. Is that accurate? The biggest wild animal I've ever seen is a raccoon.

The lynx hasn't been seen on PEI since the late 1800's. Largest animal I've would probably be a goose lol. (or the odd dead coyote on the side of the road)

There was a lynx farm in the Fort Augustus area about 15-20 years ago that failed. The owner turned the animals loose - and they have been very slowly spreading east.
Probably the biggest animal in the wild would be a coyote or one of the hybrids.
The largest animal you would ever see here is the buffalo up east. Then likely alpacas and llamas.
There was a deer farm in the Vernon River area years ago - but it also failed. However the animals were not turned loose.
The Canada goose would be the biggest bird - and the ring neck pheasant would be the largest upland bird.

Correct.
I heard the story from a Fish and Game officer who was giving training to SAR about wild animals on PEI.
We had requested the training because we had had a recent search where animals had done some damage. We wanted to understand a little better what we were facing in the woods.
He told us the story about the farm - but did not mention any names involved. If memory serves me - there was 10 or 12 animals released into the woods.

I was told there was a bobcat killed on the Portage Rd (between The North Winds Motel in Brackley Beach & Raceway Park in Oyster Bed Bridge) this summer. It was identified by a Gov't wildlife guy. It was seen earlier by someone I know who chased it after it made off with one of their chickens.
I didn't see it....
