In a classic case of selective outrage, the world is reacting to news of the shooting of a 14 yr old Pakistani girl, Malala Yousafzai. She's now being treated in a hospital in England, where she was moved for specialized care. Doctors say they expect a 'good recovery'.
Now, if you judged the situation from this 'news' coverage, you'd think that she was the only Pakistani child victim of the 'war on terror', but the reason you are hearing about her is because she was shot by the Taliban.
What about the many other 'Malalas' that you'll never hear about from the 'mainstream' media, the ones killed by American drone strikes?
Stanford Law School and New York University's School of Law released a joint study entitled “Living Under Drones: Death, Injury, and Trauma to Civilians From US Drone Practices in Pakistan.” It incorporates findings from an independent journalist organization based in London: the Bureau of Investigative Journalism (TBIJ).
According to TBIJ's best estimate based on available data, from June 2004 through mid-September 2012, drone attacks in Pakistan killed 2,593 to 3,365 people; 474 to 884 were civilians, including at least 176 children. 1,249 to 1,389 people were injured.
Do not depend on the so-called 'mainstream' media for an accurate picture of world events.

seems to be alot of controversy surrounding this one. More to it than meets the eye.

You know you can discuss geopolitical issues without sounding like a crazy person. Doing 'this' around 'buzz words' doesn't add to your legitimacy or make anyone pine for what you're saying.
Yes, these are issues highlight the hypocritical nature of state and local entities. But can we not identify them as two separate tragic events. Yes, there is mainstream media reporting on drone strikes and bringing up questions, not as much but it's a rising issue.
The media can also report on the case of Malala Yousafzai because it highlights a completely separate issue of both the role of women in Afghanistan and the encroaching power of the Taliban that is now, to some respects, seeing a backlash from certain elements of the populace.

The reason you are hearing about her is because she was already a public figure and this was a targeted assassination attempt. Your rhetoric does nothing to help her or anyone else.

I happen to like 'sounding like a crazy person', especially if it irritates tight-ass literary critics like you and Raiders. Ed

It only irritates me in so much as there is real discussion to be had but you would prefer to writhe around in the mud about it. You're making these threads not to prompt actual discussion but to go "look look what I read ain't I smart?". The fact that you see annoying others as a victory is telling.
