1,300,000 lbs of meat are being buried in an Alberta landfill.

The 'nanny state' is futilely trying to protect people who insist on eating raw meat from their own stupidity. Even the Neanderthals knew enough to cook theirs.

Some people don't always cook hamburger to a high enough temperature all the way through. I don't think there's anything wrong with the state intervening on matters where people might get deathly sick.

No. They are protecting people from unethical companies that send out tainted food. Big difference in the real world compared to tinfoil world.

Not to mention that knowingly sending out tainted meat which could cross contaminate countless other products through mishandling is just stupid.

But disposing of it in a landfill?

Couldn't it have been processed and pasteurized in other goods, like chili or what not?

or send some to every provincial capital city for a massive BBQ for the War of 1812 celebrations
