Spending tens of millions of dollars advertising a plan that is 3 years old.
Well done.

Meanwhile let's cut back on everything that isn't directly related to the cons perpetual campaign.

I agree. My biggest disappointment with the Harper government has been their inability to transform themselves after winning their majority from politicians to statesmen.

Politics is a nasty business that seems to be getting nastier right across North America. And I realize it is harder to raise standards than it is to maintain or lower them but the fact that Harper has not attempted to do so since the last election leaves me disappointed with his leadership.

It's all part of his ongoing "propaganda" machine. He and his cohorts never had the ambition or inclination to become statesmen. They have only ever been about gaining power and pushing through their old tiresome agenda. It's disgusting and I personally hope that the electorate of this country stand up and vote them out, next time round.

Thomas Mulcair is in town tonight and tomorrow. Worth listening to what he has to say.

Don't you Conservative haters ever get tired of bad mouthing the Prime Minister? What do you mean that Mr. Harper is not a statesman?

Is that why he was awarded" World Statesman of the Year" in New York City a couple of weeks ago?

Lefties talking to lefties. How boring!!!!

What is really pathetic are harper apologists who use examples like that to try and put lipstick on a pig.
Give me a break. Statesman of the year? A little award he bought by selling out to Israel.

And of course in typical empty harper apologist fashion you don't address the spending issue.

Actually I am a conservative. Long time.

Harper was given an award as a statesman by a pro Israeli organization for being pro Israeli. I read earlier today that the European Union was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. I guess awards aren't what they used to be.

Anyway, I guess that I should add that it is Chretien who, imo, began the precipitous decline in civility that still permeates Ottawa. My disappointment in Harper is that I am a conservative and was hoping that he would somehow find a way to reverse that trend.

I give Harper high marks for most of his legislative initiatives. I just wish he had found a way to follow the early ideals of the Reform Party where parliamentary civility was a major part of their platform. On this one part of his tenure I am disappointed.

Not all criticism is ideologically based.
