How much right do I have over myself?

I asked Eastlink to stop sending me paper bills, but never switched to on-line billing. After roughly 2 years of making on-line payments I called them up and asked if I was in arrears or not. They owe me about $250 - 300. Now that I can take a couple of "bill-holiday's" (not exactly singin' the blues) I thought I'd set up for on-line billing.

I read the agreement and saw this under Miscellaneous:
Quote:
Data relating to Company customers may be available to government agencies in Canada and the United States under a lawful order made by an appropriate authority.

We reserve the right, in our discretion, to terminate or restrict your access to this website at any time and without notice.

Company reserves the right, at any time and without notice, to change this Legal Notice, simply by posting such changed notice on the website. Any such change will be effective immediately once it is posted on the website.

I guess they're going to get a phone call from me every month asking what I owe. There's no F in Weigh that I'm agreeing to that.

They can do this even if you don't do online billing.

Not sure what the issue is.
What is the problem with the TOS?

Maybe I'm just being cranky, but I can't see why my Canadian phone company can open my files to an America TLA.

As far as the terms of service, they're saying they can change them by posting them on a website that they reserve the right to prevent me from seeing.

Call me cranky. I call myself bullied.

There have been more than a few international legal agreements between countries proposed recently and I guess passed as well. Not only canada and the us but globally with other countries as well. So I think this is more a legal issue with the canadian and us legal systems as they stand today than anything with your service provider alone.
