That is a pretty pathetic sentence considering this guy has five previous convictions for assaulting girlfriends and refused to get treatment for his alcohol and drug addictions. This guy sounds like a pretty clear threat to the public. It would be nice to know what kind of sentence the crown was seeking.

We've known that for a long time,always been treated as second class citizens as far back as history goes. We only won the right to vote in the 20th century. Might take another few thousand years to realize just how valuable women are.

I am not a woman but I am a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a brother-in-law, an uncle and probably someday a grandfather to women. Guys, why do we allow people that we love and respect to be continually treated this way? This is something that isn't an issue that affects just women. This is an issue that affects all of us. Isn't it well past time that we get off our collective asses and demand that this sh!t come to and end and that people like this are strongly sentenced to years of prison where they can be offered treatment and counseling?

I would also argue that children are second class citizens as well. These kind of crimes, as well as physical or sexual abuse of children, should come with much harsher sentences. How could anyone argue against that?
