With the amount of pizza places around, I'm surprised none try to emulate Pictou County Pizza. I had a slice from Acropole in Westville yesterday. It was my first authentic Pictou County Pizza. It won't be my last! They laid on the cheese nice and thick and although the sauce is very peppery, it was delicious! Next time you're in Pictou County, stop for a slice somewhere.

I believe the orginal creator of Pictou County pizza now lives in PEI and makes pizza on a private basis. He doesn't have a shop or anything but he does make it for people.

Being from Pictou County - I WISH the day would come that someone on PEI opens a pizza shop that makes this type of pizza.... one of the ladies I work with said there was a place open in the 80s that made PC pizza but they didn't last too long.

Live at 5 did a segment on PC pizza about a month ago. I had the video on my FB wall but couldn't find it when I scrolled back. I'm sure it's floating out there online though. One of the things (which I didn't know until I watched the segment) that makes the pizza different than others is that they cook the sauce.

Another place to get it is Sam's in Stellarton.... Sam's sells uncooked pizzas (large size only) that come in their own container that you an pop right into the oven. I've taken a few back when I go home for a visit and while it's not quite the same as eating it there it does the job when a craving hits.

Did find this site when I googled for the Live at 5 video:

I think the person you are referring to has the recipe for Sam's Pizza (Stellarton NS) but he is not the original creator. He makes pizza for certain people and at one time around 20 years ago, did try a Pizza shop in Charlottetown, the first one we had from him then was excellent but the ones after that didnt taste so great. His shop didn't last too long. I think he tried to cut costs and ruined the pizza. Another place to try if you are in the area is Andres, really good pizza as are all the mom and pop pizza places in Pictou County.

No the guy I am thinking of is the orginal guy from Pictou he never had a shop in PEI. He in fact came over here to retire he lives east of Ch'town and the next time I talk to him I will get his number and post it here. He does make pizzas for very select few of people and I only know about him because I once had one of his pizzas and was told the story by my host about his pizzas.

I think the original Pictou County pizza was Sam's in Stellarton and as far as I know the family are all still there. If you are referring to the man that lives in Stratford, we are talking about the same guy.

So does he ship pizza (pre-made) to the RV park in Brackley?
