Does anyone know a ball park price on what it would cost to get an above ground pool installed? Also any idea on heating cost for a season. Recommendations on what company to use?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I'd be interested to know as well.....especially from those who may have already gone down that road.....and was it worth it?

A friend of mine got one installed and his first oil bill was around $400 ,so after seeing this he decide that the pool did not have to be as hot as it was set for before the bill came in.

We just recently (about 4 weeks ago) got a 24' round above ground pool - purchased and installed by Island Hot Tubs and Pools. We also got a quote from Live For Today. We personally found that the guy at Live For Today was into saying how much better they were compared to their competition, but we found that not to be the case and found that Island Hot Tubs had a more caring attitude. All in all, they were close in price. Installed was approx $6000, startup chemicals was approx $200. This price included a solar blanket, and the ladder. We priced out solar heaters, and found out that it would be approx $1100 to heat our size pool. It's been so warm though, that the pool has been sitting at approx 80 degrees farenheit.

I have a 18 ft pool that I tried to diy solar heat this summer with some success.

Basically 200 ft of 1/2 black plastic pipe, on a small roof, driven by a submersible pump. It worked okay, and raised the pool temp ( in combination with the sun warming up the water in the pool) about 2-4 deg Cel. on a sunny day.

Next year I will add more pipe, and change the heater location - as later in this season it was partially in the shade.
