A bat flew into our house last night and scared the crap out of everyone and drove the dogs nuts. We unsuccessfully searched the house upside down for it and also left the screen the door open, just in case it found it's way out. The next morning as I was walking by our main front door, I noticed the said bat attached to the top header over our door. I grabbed a hand towel and quickly wrapped it around the bat and took it out the front door and then threw the towel and bat in the air. Down drops the towel and off goes the bat, none worse for the wear!

You are the third person I know of, in the last couple of weeks that had a bat in their house. Wonder if that is normal. Anyway glad it was you and not me!!!

Isn't that weird....something must be up for this species to act in this manner?

When I lived in Ontario I had one get in the kitchen. I put supper in the oven left the room for 20 minutes came back to check on dinner and there was a dead bat laying on top of the stove. I figured it must have crawled through in the outside vent but as to how it landed dead on my stovetop is a mystery.

I'm glad you were able to get him out safely.
