Quote: (Press Release) Festivities for the 1st annual PEI International Beer Festival will start a day earlier as a result of a new partnership struck with Labatt Breweries. Labatt Blue has chosen to kick off the new beer festival with the national celebration – Ultimate End of Summer Party. Labatt Blue recently held a national vote to find Canada’s Most Iconic Town and Charlottetown came out the winner with the most votes in the country. To celebrate the win, Labatt Blue is hosting a free Ultimate End of Summer Party on September 27, 2012 beginning at 7 p.m. at the new Charlottetown event grounds on Grafton St. to kick off the 1st annual PEI International Beer Festival. Entertainment confirmed to date includes singer-songwriter Chris Dalziel and Island blues-rockers Bad Habits with more surprise guests yet to be announced. In addition to the Ultimate End of Summer Party, Labatt Blue will award one local charity The Good Stuff Award, a $25,000 grant to benefit their work in the community. Guests at the party will vote for their favourite charity from a list of three finalists as determined by Labatt Blue. “It was a pleasant surprise to learn that the City of Charlottetown was chosen as Canada’s Most Iconic Town,” said Charlottetown Mayor Clifford Lee. “I encourage local charities to take advantage of this latest designation for the City by filling out an application to be entered in the draw. I hope the $25,000 prize money will go a long way to helping a local group with their community work.” Charities who are interested in applying should contact labattblue@edelman.com to receive an application form, additional details and deadline info. Charity finalists are encouraged to invite their supporters to the Ultimate End of Summer Party where the winner will be voted on live at the event. Come out and celebrate hometown pride with great entertainment, special guests and of course, cold Labatt Blue as the kick off to the 1st annual PEI International Beer Festival.

Voting is this Thursday Sept. 27, between 7-10pm at the new Ch'town Event Centre.
PEI GSAR has made the short list for this and we need your supprt! We could really use this money to do renovations to our building, buy a new vehicle to tow a 32 foot trailer, and to promote Project Life Saver. Since 1951, Labatt Blue has embraced its Canadian roots and its commitment to quality and tradition. This summer, Labatt Blue is honouring Canadian hometown pride and the 'Good Stuff' happening in communities from coast to coast. To kick it off, Labatt Blue has launched a nationwide search for Canada's Most Iconic Town. The town that receives the most votes will be awarded the Good Stuff Award - a $25,000 grant benefiting a local cause or initiative in the community.*
So please come out and give us your vote!

Hey there!
A big congratulations to PEI GSAR and Pat and the Elephant for being shortlisted!
I'm posting on behalf of Island Nature Trust, the third charity in the running for the $25,000 grant. And I would like to encourage everyone to come down and cast your vote!
If Island Nature Trust receives the Labatt Good Stuff Award we are going to GET KIDS OUTSIDE! As you all know, we at the Trust are passionate about conserving nature on PEI and we firmly believe that in order to be compelled to protect it, you need to love it. That starts with the kids.
If we win this award, we will design a project to get as many classes out into natural areas as possible. With this funding we could get thousands of kids’ eyes opened to biology, nature, habitats, ecosystems and more! Just think of how PEI would look if a whole generation of Island children grew up loving our beautiful island for its natural beauty!
Please come out on Thursday and cast your vote!

Is there a link to vote for the finalists or is there a selection team?
