I was surfing on Kijiji and found the ad below. Just surious if anyone knows what it is or anything about it?

Can't see it. You need permission to sell franchise shares and the H/O would just sell another franchise. At $75,000 profit a year minus rent, royalties (also called rent) and wages it had better be a 49% share too! And that's assuming they're talking GP (not mark-up) when they say profit margin.

To me when someone says 30% profit, that would indicate net profit after rent and wages etc.

That would be the best-case scenario then: $75G/yr

Which would mean on a 20k investment you would only need to have a 25% share to recover your money in a year.

Now I'm curious how many shares are to be sold. The deeper we think about it, the more obvious it is that the advert is too vague. Doesn't say whether profit is after overhead or not and what percent of the business is a share. Maybe I could invest but wouldn't even begin the inquiries without a little more on the ad. Must be my cautious side.

I know that the profit margin in national chains is stated before the overhead. If this business is M&M meats then the likely scenario is the overhead comes out of the 75grand. If it's a local business, say Queen Street Meat Market, then I'd say someone knows the overhead and needs a partner. That would be a great buy.

I asked around and apparently it is Half price Steaks or Meat. It is supposedly a large amount of shares that the previous owner retained and is now selling.

But that is just the rumour I was told so lie to me lie from me.
