Hi everyone, does there exist on PEI now, a place where I could donate bottles to a good cause, ideally an organization like Habitat for Humanity or a similar organization? I have seen it as a fundraiser for benefits, etc...but there is no organization that does this year round that I am aware of. I always have a ton of bottles and cans laying around my house, which is very small so I hate letting them accumulate enough to make it worth taking them all back. I fill a few garbage bags per month with bottles, and only usually end up with $5-10 maximum, and I likely burn $3-4 gas to return them lol. I would sooner see a bottle drive like the old days, and give them to charity, where they could use the money.

Some organizations use to do "bottle drives", but that seems to be the thing of the past. I too could donate a good few every month.

AFAIK, Habitat For Humanity Re-Store in Charlottetown is accepting all "deposit bottles" as a fundraiser. You can check with Mario @PEI_Restore on twitter

That's great, do you know if the Summerside store is accepting them too? I live in Summerside, and even when I travel to Charlottetown, I rarely have room for bottles lol.

In Summerside Generation XX has a Cans for Kids program. They accept residential cans at the club on Notre Dame Street and they use their big truck to once a week collect from businesses that donate their cans too. That's where we bring ours.
