We're planning a visit in the next week or two in order to "check out" the central Island a little. (Probably we'll rent a cottage half an hour or so from Ch-town.)
We'll be spending lots of time in town to see how it feels there, and checking out the south shore beaches as well.
What else would you suggest is a MUST SEE or MUST DO??
The main purpose of the trip is to get a good feel for the central Island in the heart of summertime - if we like it we'll likely buy a home somewhere near Ch-town.
At this point I'm leaning towards to the south west shore... But maybe there are great places to live more to the north or east of town as well? If you have any ideas, please post em, thanks!

The south shore is a gem ! .. you dont have the traffic , tourist , and higher prices that you get on the North Shore Beaches I.E Cavendish Brackly Beach. the water is warmer , and I have yet to see any undertow. Areas like Canoe Cover, Rice point, Argyle shore are beautiful with affordable housing. They also have tides ..so you have sand bars for part of the day to go out and enjoy .. sandcastles , clam digging ect ...

Thanks for the hints! BTW, weather forecast for this week and next is 'not too promising' (overcast, rainy)... is this a unusually cool August for PEI?
