We are moving to PEI in the summer and would like to ask a few questions. We are retiring and of course going to be on a pension.
We are wondering what utilities are gonna cost us.
car insurance?
house insurance.
Cable bill
telephone bill
electric bill
veterinary bill ex dog shots for the year.
Thanks in advance.

My car insurance is through TD. We have Comprehensive on an 08 sedan and public liability on a 97. $136 /month

I bundle my phone, internet and cable through Eastlink for $175 month.

We are two people in a 2800 square foot bungalow, propane heat and hot water, electric bill is average $80/month

Our annual veterinary bill for check up and shots, 80 pound dog is approximately $90. Add flea/worm treatment to that in the spring, I believe a 3 month supply is about 60 - 90.

It's hard to say without more details but here are my rough estimates

car insurance = 500-1,000/yr
house insurance = 300-600yr
Cable bill = $150-200/month
telephone bill = Likely bundled with your cable bill
electric bill = $50-100

Heating can vary a lot but neither electric nor oil is cheap and we have cold winters. I would say at least $200/month averaged over 12 months.

Depending on where you are coming from you may get sticker shock when it comes to other items such a groceries. PEI is not a cheap place to live.

Looks like the previous comments a fairly accurate to me.

Just wanted to let you know if you're looking for somewhere in Summerside, feel free to check out my website for housing options.
