More specifically. What can you do in Charlottetown on a regular day to day basis that you cannot do in Summerside?

Have a nice drink outdoors. Victoria Row. Free outdoor entertainment in Charlottetown. Better shopping options in Charlottetown. You can do many of the same things in both cities but it's just the general ambiance of Charlottetown compared to Summerside. And the growing multi cultural community in Charlottetown is huge compared to Summerside. It's really having an influence on Charlottetown. Charlottetown seems to be growing and evolving whereas Summerside seems stagnant. In case anyone was wondering, I was born and raised in Charlottetown and have been living in Summerside for the most part since 2004.

It sounds like Summerside will be your only option should you move here. For you, going to Charlottetown from there would be like going to Toronto from Kitchener. You go there for a specific reason on occasion, then home. No big deal.
Thousands of people live in S'side and enjoy it. Why wouldn't you.
It won't be long until you go to university so if I were you I'd be looking into those.

And the drive from Ch'town to S'side is 45 mins, if I remember correctly its nearly 2 hours to get to Toronto, plus rush hour traffic ~cringe~ So just because they move to summerside doesn't mean Ch'town is out of reach.

Here are few everyday things here that would make difference to me (Nerd alert!): - going to comic book store(s) - buying food and supplies for exotic pets (and having vet available to see them when needed) - meeting with other software developers - hearing foreign language while walking down the street - Eating and drinking at cool place .... Terre Rouge, Leonhards, Young Folk, Lot 30, Globe, Starbucks. - going to gym late in the evening - doing grocery shopping at night - seeing street performers ... lain-american guy playing sax or gypsy playing clarinet ....

Summerside has had a 24 hour gym for a few years now!

Summerside has had a 24 hour gym for a few years now! I did not know that. Good for Summerside. The only gym/pool combo in Charlottetown open late is in Delta hotel and they close at 10:30.
