What part of the Island are you all from - and from those off Island - what part are you from?

Also.....

What brought you to PEI Talk?

Just doing a little bit of marketing work....

My paternal side of the family have lived in the Malpeque Bay region ever since the 1770's, they were often farmers, millers and what not. I lived in Kensington for a few years and much of my family is still there.

My maternal grandparents lived most of their lives in Borden, as did their families. I still have some family there too.

Ok... I was born in Halifax, and I lived in New Glasgow, NS from the time I was 6 months old until I was 11, when we moved to Milton, PEI.. My dad got a job here, so we moved over... we lived there about 2 years, then moved into Reeves Estates, where my parents live now... and me and my bro live close to downtown...

What brought me to PEITalk.. well, I saw a bit on the news about weblogs.. and they giave a link to one, which gave me a link to another one, which gave me a link to another one, which gave me a link to here.. *L* I liked it here, so I stayed....

I grew up in Miscouche and wen't to school there and in Summerside. Dad was a Bartender for 14 years at the Officers Mess at the base.

I moved when I joined the navy. After fires on ship, running aground among other things, I decided it was not for me. I left the Navy and spent the next 10 years working for Raytheon in QA, Production Coordination and Estimating.

I moved back to the Island in 1982. Since then I have done a variety of jobs. I was Secretary of the Summerside Legion for a few years and since then all my work was in computers and business equipment.

The first computer I ever sold was worth $3999. It was an XT with an 8088 and 128 K ram, 10 meg HD and a monochrome screen.

I used to chat on a site called Matchmaker out of Texas. I knew the guy that wrote the software. He eventually sold it to Lava. It was a pay board. I helped set up the Cincinatti Matchmaker and had free membership there. The owner sold it and then I found Island Tel's PEI Chat.

I annoyed people there until Island Tel shut it down. I looked around and found PEI Info.

I chat primarily for the motivation of researching. Usually when I post, I spend a few minutes researching an issue. This help me keep up with the world.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. I like to express mine...the opinions that is, not the a**hole

I was raised in Parkdale, which is now a part of the city of Ch'town.

As for how I found out about PEIinfo, I prefer not to bring up bad memories. Suffice to say that PEIinfo was, um, agressively advertised within the chat forum of PEIchat, a board that has been closed down for a few years now.

I live just a few miles from Summerside in Travellers Rest.

As for coming to this board, same reason as Rob. Came from PEIChat to peiinfo. Also was in Dizzy Block another chat place like this.

I too came from PEI chat. JMweb used to visit there and highly publicize this board. It paid off for him I guess

Born, raised in Charlotteown....spent a brief period of time in Cornwall for grade 1 and part of grade 2, other then that its been Charlottetown and briefly West Royalty.

Rocket Board brought me here at the end of the 2003-04 season, not sure how I found it....But I used to frequent the official Rocket board on the site and pop on over here once and a while.

Born and bred Charlottetown.

Found the forum through a link on the Guardian site that lead to a poll on the main site and then from there clicked on the link to the forum.

Born in Cold Lake AB, then raised in Borden ON, and when my dad got out of the service we moved to Charlottetown (I was 9 then), and then we built a house in North Rustico.

I moved back to Charlottetown when I got out on my own and remain here today.

I am also a veteran of PEI Chat and Dizzy Block. Met John in person when he came to work where I work. It's funny, because we were going through some stuff with him on PEI Chat and I didn't want to say who I was at work at first, so I kept my identity a secret for a while. He knew me as April24 from the old board. I liked him in person, so when he told me about this site, I threatened to sign up the day he called me a "whiner" LOL. So here I am.
