I heard Cora's is closed. Some "Former" employees we're handing out resumes at other restaurants today and said Cora's was closed as of yesterday...

Anyone else hear about this???

We have had our Christmas breakfast there in Dec. before, so never heard tell of them closing seasonally before.

Which season? They have never closed before for the winter.

I think the loss of 400+ potential customers practically next door in the Dominion Building sealed their fate.

I doubt that very much......not like they moved out of town somewhere.......the place was always busy whenever I walked by there.

I didn't realize you were downtown that much anymore :)

I doubt that many former Dominionites would walk all the way over to Cora's from DJM or JCB when there are already many restaurants a lot closer to them where they could grab breakfast. And I'm pretty sure that the majorority of folks out at APM aren't heading downtown for one of Cora's upscale breakfasts.

But then, I don't spend nearly as much time on that portion of Queen St. during the morning hours (when Cora's was open for the breakfast crowd) anymore, unlike you apparently ... so I shall bow to your up to date daily observations. :)

One of the main complaints I always hear about Cora's is the time it takes to get your food for breakfast.
Breakfast needs to be very quick and efficient otherwise it is a money loser.

It's great to have the seats full but if you are not turning the seats over at least 3 times for breakfast forget about it.

They were never open in the evenings, only for breakfast and lunch.

Ya think? Might be why they were called a breakfast place.

My point was - there has never been a printed sign on the door before indicating closed. Just the normal hours sign that showed they were open mornings (and into the dinner hour).

I was pretty disappointed today. Went there for my birthday breakfast and it said "Sorry we are closed" on the sign. The tables seem to be set. Some guy I met on the street said they were sold and won't be opening again. I hope this isn't true. If anybody has more information please post!

And how was I to know what your point was if you didn't mention it?

I've been looking for confirmation as to whether Cora's is closed or not.

I'll personally be pretty disappointed if its gone for good. Cora's isn't an, "every day," place, but it was a nice treat. People complain it is expensive, but if you go to another sit-down in town for breakfast, you'll be paying around the same price, and you won't be getting a big plate of fresh fruit for breakfast.

Goodbye, Strawberry Satisfaction Crepes with custard. :(

I drove by there on Saturday at about noon and it had a "Closed" sign in the window, so the rumours must be true. It's closed.

It was closed today but you'd think if it was closed for good, they would have a sign indicating it. It looked neat and tidy inside like it could reopen at any time.
