as i posted, our one expereince with amandas wasnt stellar, but based on reviews we have tried to eat here the last few weekends.

every time we go, the place is packed. hardly even a parking spot, so we end up going to by the bay.

if amandas is that unclean, i wouldnt expect a jammed parking lot.

however, hair in food does happen as un appetizing as it is, and can happen at any reataurant.

the post will not deter me from trying to get in to re try it.

We ate herelast night. I wanted fries with the works and someone in another thread said they were good here so we went.

We ordered chicken fingers w/fries with the works, a donair and then we ordered a large pizza to go. It took 57 minutes after we placed our order for our meal to come. The only reason why I noticed is because I was facing the clock and I noticed it was 6:30 on the dot.

That part kind of annoyed me - trying to entertain a 2 year old for an hour so she doesn't bother other people isn't necessarily the easiest!

While we waited for our meal, people that ordered a half an hour after us were served their meals. There was another table beside us that didn't get their order until a couple of minutes after us and they ordered right after us. People that walked in after us and placed huge orders of chicken finger dinners were served their meals before us (they hadn't called in ahead of time).

There was a table behind us that got up and ASKED the waitress to come and take their order she said she'd be right over but then took 5 minutes and waited another table that was larger and just came in first. The table behind us all got up and left.

I think they need to hire more staff the poor waitress was literally run off her feet. I figure she forgot to submit our orders because I saw her refilling her order pad 1 minute after she remembered to bring our drinks over.

Anyway chicken fingers were great, fries were perfect however I would probably not order their FWTW again the gravy just tasted like peas and gravy. Husband said his donair was great and the pizza we took home was probably the best pizza I've ever had.

They lost out on a lot of business last night from people leaving - I suggest they hire a few more staff instead of burning out the ones that they have. I'd also say the cook doesn't know how to prioritize the meals in order and just tries to get the biggest orders out of the way first.

i agree with the last poster. that place is booming and the few times i ever ate inside i only seen one waitress and one counter staff(maybe a busgirl perhaps as she would go clean tables, take pps money and take dishes out from kitche???) i am not sure how its run but it sounds like the cook isn't organized at all, maybe not a seasoned cook!lol(i live with one so i know it takes a few yrs of practice to know waht foods need to get on first etc esp in a high turn over rest.)...with that being said i bet if they had at least one bus/cash person, and two wait staff their turnover would be much better. for a very small sitting area, tehy NEED to turn the place around faster cause as you said...tehy lose out on alot of business.
on a side note...havin one cook and onewaitress on woudl be perfect for the place if it was open yr round and in teh winter months i would LOVE to be able to get an amandas pizza *hint hint to the owners**
