I just found this website so don't know if it's been mentioned here, but has anyone tried this service? $5 for a meal, taxes and delivery to the door included sounds pretty good.

http://www.realmeals.ca/index.htm

Real Meals is a privately run catering business established in 1998, located in Cornwall, Prince Edward Island.

Our facilities consist of a provincially inspected commercial kitchen. All meals are prepared fresh, without additives or preservatives, under the guidance of our Qualified Executive Chef, Dale Brown.

We deliver 7 days a week to your home or office. The total cost of our items is $5.00. All meals are delivered fresh! It is because of this that we require a day's notice for orders. In addition to our monthly menu, which provides two daily choices, we also have a regular menu which can be ordered from any day.

you're welcome, Aphr0dite, I didn't even think of that, it would be great for someone who's ill - especially since there's no additives or preservatives so it's less likely to upset

I had the broccoli and chicken crepes delivered to my place.
They were pretty good! I found that it was a really good size for the price.

This honestly would be much better to get a co-worker if they were sick, instead of sending flowers, have a meal a day delivered to them!

There is a similar company that has been in business for quite some time. They focus on organic and some vegetarian/gluten free food.

http://www.lunchonline.ca/lunchspecials/EatWell.htm

She delivers on Tues and Thurs and is also at the Farmer's market every weekend. Great food, too!

Also, I see Timothy's is now carrying her meals.

We had some meals delivered to work this Wednesday. Most of us had one of the specials - Grilled chicken w/ veggies or Roast beef, potatoes and veggies. I couldn't believe the serving size, it was MORE than enough!! Very tasty meal too. However, just to let you know, the meals are cold and you have to heat them up....no big deal though. Also, they have to be ordered the day before.

At 10:30 am a gentleman knocked on my door with my dinners.

We ordered the ...

Southern Fried Chicken

2 pc chicken, 2 scoops of mashed potatoes with gravy on them and mixed veggies.

Ceasar Chicken Pasta

Generous amounts of sliced chicken, noodles and sauce.

Split between my son and I so we could sample a bit of everything ... TWO thumbs up, we'll be ordering this again!

Curry Chicken and Noodles ... YUMMY

and Lasagna and Salad ... delicious ....

for $20 (and I gave a $5 tip) was worth every penny and then some ... fed 4 adults and enough of each left that my son got a sampling of seconds from the 4 containers ....

This is certainly going to become a regular treat for us .... After paying over $40 for delivery pizza last weekend (and vowing never to buy take out pizza again) ... this is a nice change.

It wont take away from our treat ourselves to a night out at a restaurant, but it will change how I buy groceries and organize dinner .... convenient and impressed for the price and convenience.

Geez. Almost seems too good to be true. Dang. Now I'll have to check this out soon.

heard that they were very good and you get a good sized portion with what you order. My mother has ordered from them said it was the best she has had from ordering out. She is not a big eater and found she had enough leftover for a second meal.

This looks really really good to a student.. But they deliver before noon. I'm home alot in the afternoons, but usually not in the mornings.

Do they give you any idea when they will be coming? Or just "before noon"? Hmm, maybe I could leave the money outside my door and they could leave the food there.

Heh My living arrangement isn't really suited to such a service. I'm not even on the same floor as my front door and we have no door bell. Any deliveries have to agree to call my cell from the front door :)

I love being different.

Ed breaks off into a chorus of, "It isn't easy being green".
