Not a review, and none of our business.

When I eat there I always leave the waitress between 15 and 20% of the bill as a gratuity. But, I don't own Maid Marion's.

I don't think I've ever worked anywhere that the staff was given anything for Christmas by the owners...

If there were Xmas bonuses given out, thenit was to select few. very select. ALl the girls I spoke to were quite forward to admit that nothing was given to staff for Xmas.

As for the trip, yes, there is one given out, its given when you have ( from memory) 15 or more years of service there. It is a trip for two, and ( again from memory) you go with another staff member who has the same time in, not your spouse.

I first heard of this a few years ago, so my memory is hazy on the details, but there ws a trip given, but no xmas bonus.

Merry Christmas Peter Scrooge.

Was in here this am, nothing strange or startling, average breafast fare... but:

Witnessed one of the girls who has been a long time employee /bookeeper, checking the ice cream machine. All of the girls except this one, stand up on a chair, lift the cover, look in to check the levels.

Not this one. She reached up, lifted the cover, and stuck her hand/fingers in to check the level. Fingers came out covered in white fluid. Loudly announced that " seems to be lots there".

Never saw her wash her hands before, or after.

And this, is whats serving food there.

I for one was very thankful to have heard this. Thankfully ice cream doesn't go well with breakfast, as that is the only meal I ever get there.

To the OP, most places do NOT give Christmas bonus's. If you work somewhere that you do count yourself lucky. Its not a requirement for a business to give out Christmas bonus's, that's why its called a bonus.

Having worked in the industry for many years I must say this is alarming! You say she didn't wash her hands before or after putting it in to the machine. I find that to believe. It Would be quite a task for her to serve patrons with ice cream all over her hands. Can you be sure she didn't wash up . Did you report the employee to the employer. I am sure he/she would have appreciated your input. I too have frequented this establishment a few times over the years and have found all of the girls to be very charming, witty and very professional. Fast service and top notch food at a very reasonable price. I took the liberty to read your previous posts and it makes me wonder why you would frequent such a place if it was so distasteful. Perhaps if it is not up to your standards you should consider having your meals at a more suitable facility. Again I must say I can't stress enough how important it is that you should have first notified the employer so that the proper steps could be followed in reprimanding the employee if in fact she did what you THINK she did.
