I believe this is the name of the newly renovated Velvet Underground. I'm sceptical, but curious. I walked by a few times at lunch and noticed the deck was always full... Anybody been here yet?

It’s actually pretty good.
I’ve been there twice so far with a group of people, once for lunch and about a week later after work on a Friday and they had Terry Hatty playing acoustically which was a nice touch so we stayed for a couple of pitchers after our meals.
We ordered nachos and wings to start, both were quite tasty although I would have enjoyed a little more cheese on the nachos. I do find that cheese famine is common in Charlottetown restaurants though it seems, so c'est la vie. The wings were breaded and meaty, done perfect. I know it’s hard to screw up wings, but I’ve had orders elsewhere that were overdone and dry as a bone.
My friends ordered a large meats pizza to share and were quite impressed. They said the crust texture reminded them of McDonalds pizza which they miss dearly, so they were pumped. I had an 8oz steak medium rare and fries. Steak was cooked just as I ordered it and had great flavor, and the fries were nice too, apparently fresh cut. On another occasion I had the Philly cheese steak and it was also quite good. The prices throughout the menu are about the same, maybe a shade lower than most pubs around town and the servers were really friendly and attentive. The service overall was pretty quick. We will all be back.
:)

That deck will attract people to eat there regardless of the previous reputation of the place!

Kudos to them on trying to rebrand the place.

Ironic thing is, before they changed their name I heard positive comments on their food. Never really put much emphasis on it and then this past weekend I had their steak special (something like $11). It was really good.

From what I hear and see they are doin very well. They have done a great job cleaning up the corner. It's great to have such a vibrant area with Buono Mangia, Thai, Famous Peppers along with The Factory, JCs and Hunter's!

I've had the opportunity to eat here twice. First time, was free, getting their Saturday steak speak which was no short of amazing for expected $10 it was suppose to cost.

They used to have good pizza, years ago. I'm told they still do.

The 2nd time, after gold cup parade, I had the chicken club and it was equally as good.

Actually, both times were paid for now that I think about it...and both times it was delicious! I'd go back, even if I was buying!

Haven't eaten there yet but I agree the sign is too small/easy to miss.

I read on Twitter that they were working on getting a bigger sign.

No idea. I think it was Dave Stewart (Guardian reporter) who tweeted it.

Round three and JC's......fantastic!
Dropped in this evening with a buddy for a bite and it was delicious!
We had fish and chips with sweet potato fries and a Philly cheese steak.
Very tasty stuff! Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Service was again super prompt and has been every time I've been there. It gets a 5/5 for sure. Tonight the owner came over and chatted for a while (real nice guy.) Great food every time I've been there.
