Couple looking for farm to rent/rent to own. Currently living in Ontario but are looking to move back to the island.
We are very interested in becoming more self-sufficient on the island and providing excellent quality veggies and meat for friends, family and anyone else interested. We have many years’ experience in raising and selling pastured roasting chickens, layers and holiday turkeys. Experienced in large garden growing, baking, canning, wood working, carpentry and will be starting cheese making in early spring.
Husband is a dairy herdsman, experienced in A.I.
We will be offering grass fed lamb next year and will have milking does (goats) trained for small homesteads. Looking to get into honey bees, blueberry/strawberry production and market garden sales.
We are putting feelers out to see what we can find, my husband is from Victoria and we would prefer to be relatively close to help on the home farm also. House doesn’t have to be fancy or big ( 2 bedrooms is good) animals will be coming with us.
Is there a retired or soon to be retired farmer that wants to stay on the farm but can’t handle the physical work? We have MANY references and can certainly answer any questions.
Winter is the season to stay hunkered down but is also when we have more time to look.
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
