On Friday, March 6, a new live music series unveils at The Haviland Club called Amanda Jackson Band & Friends Concert Series.

Featuring a different special guest each show, the concert series will showcase a variety of blues, adult alternative and folk artists from PEI and Atlantic Canada.

Amanda Jackson Band are a dynamic trio featuring former Bad Habits lead singer Amanda Jackson on vocals, guitar and piano, with Dale McKie on guitar and harmonica, and Todd MacLean on piano, guitar and saxophone.

The first show in the series presents PEI country/blues/folk singer-songwriters/guitarists Dan Currie and Katie McGarry.

PEI singer/songwriter, Katie McGarry, has a smooth vocal sound that washes over her catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics. Her sophomore album, Waiting On (February 2014), provides a satisfying serving of sweet vocals, tasty country licks, and contemplative lyrics that help to justify the description of her music as being timeless. Katie just received four MusicPEI nominations.

Although he is best known for his greasy rock & roll guitar chops, Dan Currie is also a prolific singer/songwriter whose writing spans into the genres of rock, blues, and country. With ear catching melodies and raw lyrics, his tunes paint descriptive scenes of the broken-hearted. His third solo album “Heartache” is due out this spring. Dan just received 2 MusicPEI nominations.

Admission is $15, doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8:00 p.m.
