Fiddle sensation Ashley MacIsaac will take the stage at the Indian River Festival's annual fund-raising concert. Join us for an evening of high-energy, toe tapping music in support of the Festival on Saturday, September, 6 at 7:30 PM!

Since 1996, the Indian River Festival has provided its audiences with the very best in classical, world, folk, traditional, and jazz music. Currently in its 19th season, the Festival looks toward the future; proceeds from this performance not only support programming efforts, but also aid in the continuous restoration and upkeep of the Festival's beloved venue, historic St. Mary's Church.

Come celebrate the Festival with the enfant terrible of the fiddle, Ashley MacIsaac. He is one of the most celebrated Canadian roots musicians of all time. Having sold in excess of 500,000 albums, Ashley has garnered international acclaim by playing the fiddle in that hard-nosed, traditional Cape-Breton style, while adding his own spin, mixing genres and updating Celtic music to appeal to a broader spectrum of fans. Considered something of a local legend and prodigy by the time of his impressive 1992 debut Close To The Floor, Ashley broke through to the mainstream with the double-platinum genre-bending Hi, How Are You Today? in 1995. International radio play for the single, “Sleepy Maggie” and a regular slot on MuchMusic made Ashley an instant Canadian icon. Ashley's recent album Crossover is his first full band recording since 2002.

This performance takes place at historic St. Mary’s Church in Indian River; more information at http://www.indianriverfestival.com or by calling 1-866-856-3733.
