Does any do pilates - in class or via DVD? How do you like it? What kind of workout does it give you? What would you recommend (DVD) for a beginner?

I've been doing Pilates for a few years...not religously, .
I took beginner classes with Stephanie Knickle and she is great (Spa). I also purchased Pilates For Beginners to try at home.($20 at Indigo and well worth it!)

Good luck!

I believe stephanie is offering them at the AFC downtown now too. Stacey does a body sculpting class there too, it's pilates without the name! i took it for over a year with stace, and had fantastic results. the class is free for members, $7.50 for non per class. :)

Hey there - thanks for your replies you two.

I've got the 'Pilates for Dummies' Beginner workout (and yes, I'm a dummy) and find it to be pretty good in explaining and demonstrating what to be doing and where...some positions just aren't going to happen but at least I can lay there and laugh at myself - thank god there's no hidden cameras in the house  I don't know how much good it's doing me, but I feel good and am noticing a more concentrated effort in strengthening my "powerhouse" and correcting my posture, which is terrible.
