Guess I might as well post one of my favorite hobbies...
I know there are some of you are out there... it is sort of a difficult hobby to be in here on the island without many local suppliers (and high local prices). Myself and a few others are trying to put together a informal club to do group orders, swap meets and share info, generally set up a support network.

Drop me a PM or email to become a member with no strings attached, we will just keep you informed of happenings and welcome any ideas, tips or what have you. Oh, and a introduction and/or a pic of your set up here would be nice, but again, no pressure (it just may give some peeps here the bug).

A favorite relatively local forum of mine is http://www.eastcoastaquariumsociety.ca/forum/index.php
and more specifically:
http://arrg.ca/

My own background in the hobby is keeping freshwater aquariums since the age of 13 and serious fan of marine since 16 or so and researching ever since (ack... almost 18 years). I am just now working on setting up a 125 gallon now that I have a place to put it and the web is a great source of info and supplies.

Yeah, it is sort of expensive, but really no worse than owning a skidoo, pleasure boat, woodworking or gardening (etc etc.) and just like all those it is only as expensive as you want it to be... ok... you know what I mean.

Anyway... let us know you are out there.
