actually i know of 3 people who took borage oil capsules for depression , and it worked for all 3 of them.

Herbals and homeopathy are not the same thing. Homeopathy is just water. herbals are plants. Whether or not Borage oil is effective, I don;t know. However, it is not risk free,

[quote]Borage Side Effects: Don’t Take It During Pregnancy
Borage oil may not be safe to use during pregnancy since the gamma-linolenic acid it contains increases production of prostaglandin E – a compound that can stimulate premature labor. This is one supplement women who are "with child" will want to avoid.

Less Serious Side Effects of Borage Oil
The most common side effects experienced by users of borage oil are mild nausea, bloating, and headache. These annoying symptoms usually subside after the body has a chance to adjust. Borage oil also has mild blood thinning effects and shouldn’t be used when taking prescription blood thinners to reduce the risk of bleeding.

The Bottom Line?
Borage oil is a safe supplement as long as it’s certified free of alkaloids and isn’t used during pregnancy or when taking blood thinners. As with all supplements - a doctor should be consulted before taking it – particularly if there's a family history of other medical problems. It's important to have blood tests drawn periodically to check liver function while on borage oil since some brands contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids which can cause liver inflammation.

How is criminalizing people who practice medicine without a licence a bad thing?

Do you think they just stick up a shingle and open a practice? Give your head a shake. They are gearing it for pharma schooled medicine. People that are taking herbals and homeopathic meds also research what they are taking. mild nausea, bloating, and headache I'd rather have that any day, compared to some of the symptoms I've had with pharma.
