I'm heading on vacay in a few weeks, and looking for any and all suggestions on a good read. I don't like any particular genre of books, I read it all. Anything memorable that you've read lately?

Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón is an amazing read. If you haven't read the Millennium trilogy The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson are great Oram Pahmuk is a Turkish writer with a number of great books. Jose Saramago, wrote Blindness, The Cave and others.

My all time fav is one of Tom Clancy's older ones. Red Storm Rising. About war breaking out between the USSR and NATO at the height of the cold war.

I just finished Bride of New France by Suzanne Desrochers and loved it! Also recently read The Guardians by Andrew Pyper, an excellent mystery/thriller set in small town Ontario. Thumbs up as well to Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.
