I read Pillars of the Earth 20 years ago, literally could not put it down and have reread it several times since. World Without End is as good if not better. Both are books you look at the size and wonder if it will ever end, but when you get to the end you wish for even more pages. LOL

I found a book about twenty years ago that anyone who enjoyed this will allso enjoy. Sarum is an epic novel that encompasses the prehistoric time from the building of stone henge to the building of the large cathedral in the same erea. Spanning the times of romans, celts, saxons and normans, I enjoyed it immensely. So if you liked The Pillars Of The Earth, give this a try. I am sure anyone liking this will love it. Think I will dig it up and reread it, if the wife didn't get rid of it in one of her purges.
More info on old sarum.

Read Sarum many years ago also and have reread it at least once.
Great book.
Would appeal to James Michener fans, similiar story line

Ken Follett has a new book out called "Fall of Giants". Looks like its going to be a trilogy. It is a fictional account of several families in the UK, US, Russia and Germany before and during WW1. I just finished it. Like Pillars of the Earth, it is long but I really enjoyed it - looking forward to the next book.
