Just finished reading this book this morning. The Host is Meyer's first novel geared towards adults after finding success in the teen genre with the Twilight series. It is classified as science-fiction but I'm not sure that's where I would classify it.

It takes place during a time when Earth has been invaded by a species of aliens called Souls. They are implanted in a host body (human) and then continue to live on as that person.

The story itself centers around a particular soul who is named Wanderer after she is implanted into an adult host body that is captured by the Souls and what happens to her as she starts her life on earth.

At first the novel was a little hard to get into. But once I hit chapter 7 or so I was hooked. I really enjoyed the characters and even shed a tear or two throughout.

This novel has made Meyer an author I will place on my must read list!

I'm enjoying it too - about 1/2 way through! Meyer is a great writer
