Owe the government money (so bad that you nearly claim bankruptcy). And yet you take a public elected position that taxpayers pay you to work. Then you get promoted and receive even more income.
Se we the taxpayers are paying for her to pay her taxes/debt :P

Wish I could get gov job, then get promoted, and have gov debt paid ;)

Guess I'll run in the election if I ever go bankrupt.

How is it any different than any government employee. Tax dollars are going to pay all of their debts regardless of whether they are government debt or not.

So any government employee who is in debt (rev tax, property tax, income tax...etc.) should quit their jobs to avoid the conundrum of allowing a government wage to pay off their government debt?

I believe it works similar to those on the other end of that financial yardstick. When you have ties to specific businesses and your in a position(not any government job) that may influence that business to prosper. Which is why the PNP was such a scandal.

Think it has more to do with this person being in a position of trust. How can she be trusted to make decisions regarding the tax dollars she would be in control of through her department if she can't be trusted to control her own finances, especially when they are in regards to provincial taxes owed. If she were just a teacher and not an elected then appointed official it would be different I would think.
