Of course, we've heard ... this is P.E.I. after all.

I heard about it from my neigbour's uncle's brother-in-law's nephew's sister-in-law's grandmother's neigbour

Well I wondered if it was Rob Lantz's announcement or the rumour that Ray Murphy is looking at running for the PC leadership but neither would have any explaining to do.

The media wouldn't have held that story back for a week or two.

I can't help but laugh. When the heard the news of the love child the thought that ran through his mind probably was "well, at least my week couldn't possible get any worse".

haha

Mr.Duffy still believes he has done nothing wrong even with 31 charges against him.As taxpayers we should have just fired him from the senate and been done with it. Now it will be tied up in the courts for years and Mr.Duffy will not see the inside of a jail but might get house arrest at the most because of health reasons.
Now think of the costs of this to the taxpayers who will be footing the bill for the 200,000 that was misspent.
And this is just the first one to be charged and more to follow at the taxpayers expense.

No wonder and he's not alone, I'm sure most of these Senators think they're above the law and anything they do is and always have been "the way things are done in this powerful appointed position"!

I think that just letting it go that easy would be terrible mistake. Any money that goes into keeping this case in the public eye for as long as possible is money well spent.

Mr Duffy did not get where he is on his own - he did not appoint himself, he did not sign off on his own expenses, he did not invite himself to attend events all over the country. Everything he ever touched should turn poisonous and everyone who was, even just in the slightest, involved should be exposed.

These people did not just steal and cheat and then tried to cover it up - they betrayed our trust and they have to be punished for it in a way that will resonate fear with any public worker who realizes he mistakenly brought home publicly owned pen.

I'm just curious as to how we taxpayers would go about firing him

Would something like this this work?

Dear Mr. Duffy,

Please be advised that a bunch of us taxpayers have decided to fire you from your Senate position. Please advise as to whether you would like any pesonal belongings in your office sent to your Ottawa address or to your PEI address.

Regards,
Kreskin

PS. the Constitution Of Canada says that there are protocols for relieving Senators of their duties and that none of them involves ordinary taxpayers, but screw the Constitution ... yer gonzo!! Hasta la Vista! Adios! Adieu! Arrivederci! Auf Wiedersehen! Do svidaniya!

I do not believe he is a sitting senator as of now.
As Hank Jr said about his father's manager, why spend a thousand dollars on a hundred dollar show.
If the senators are convicted of any charges they should be made to pay for the investigation, court costs, legal fees on both sides and so on.If this happened this might be a deterrent for the ones still sitting and for the ones to follow.
