I'll let the link explain the series. At episode 4. Anyone who likes period movies will like this series.
As described by 'starz'
"Follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate relationship is ignited that tears Claire's heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives."

I have read every book in the series twice, so as you can imagine, I was soooooo excited for the tv show to start!
I can honestly say that so far it does not disappoint :D

I'm enjoying it, too. But I've read the book soooooo many times that I can tell when they change the dialogue. Luckily they've kept very close to the story so far.

I thought the druid dance at Craigh na dun particularly well done. It looked better on the show that I pictured it in my head when I read the book.

I'm still not sure if I like the choice of actors. Jamie, maybe but Claire doesn't look right to me - the book always described her hair and eyes as light golden brown - the color of whiskey.

True ariadne, and Jamie is supposed to be more than a full head taller than most men, and have bright red shoulder length hair. However, I'm not having too difficult a time accepting the guy who's playing him, he's kinda cute :P

I think Jamie's hair is actually short at the beginning. I seem to recall him telling Claire in the book that just before they'd met he was coming with his uncle from the abbey where they'd shaved his hair to treat an axe wound to the back of his head.

I'm hoping they'll grow his hair out as the TV show progresses as he does have shoulder length hair for most of the books. But, you're right, he's cute. I'm willing to forgive the lack of height provided they give him some blue contact lenses :-)
