How can simply switching providers be such an ordeal?

We currently have two DVR units available. We offer our DVR for $14.95 per month plus tax. It is a Motorola DCX 3400. It allows you to record two programs at a time.

We also offer our Eastlink Maestro. It is $19.95 per month plus tax and would require our Internet service. It allows you to record six programs at a time. It is an Arris SBG6580.

My playback problems finally escalated and I placed another service call. Aliant came to my house and replaced my PVR and all the fiberOp devices except for the router. Looks like I may not move to eastlink after all.

For what it's worth, I switched from eastlink to bell fiber at christmas and have found pvr playback better on bell than eastlink. I had a lot more sound cuts and graphical glitches on the eastlink box than I see on bell. We initially had some issues with the phone after the switch, but they swapped out the fiber box and that seemed to fix it.

Looks like Aliant's customer care saved another customer.
