WDTV Live $89 at memory express .
Free basic shipping via canada post and it is only $94.49 after taxes to your door. This is sold out at staples on sale at $129.99 + environment fee and taxes brings it to over $150. So if you want one scoop it up.

I also own the player mentioned in this forums thread and use it in our bedroom. The pq is not quite as good as the wdtvs but it is still pretty darn good. I think the wdtv up converts as well and the patriot box does not. But the PB has its own merits one being that an internal laptop hard drive can be added to it, there is more third party firmware support than the wdtv, and that it is dirt cheap. Rumor also that new units have a two year warranty! You can buy it at memory express as well for $59 after mail in rebate and is also free shipping. It is $55 at amazon.com but is also out of stock.

A second alternative some may want to explore. I love mine works great wifi with a dlink usb wifi unit plugged into it. Streams 720p content well, 1080p not so well.

Those are good deals, I see the 7200 hitachi 1Tb drive is there for $59 now.
Also on a side note just noticed the patriot box can be had for $40 shipped after rebate now. Info on the first link I posted.

That's great to hear, you are going to enjoy it.
If you want to make the gui pretty, you can after you have your movie file on an external drive; do a google image search for the 'movie dvd', then use gimp to resize it to 500x720 pixles and then rename it the same as your video file. That way you will have a nice thumbnail of your file presented on your screen. Also you can do the same for any folder containing videos by naming your jpg simply 'folder'.
I have the 2tb wd drive mentioned in my previous post and the dock as well and can state they work fine. Also the latest firmware of the wdtv live has some great online features such as mediafly so be sure to check those out. The device should prompt you for updates when you start it up if you network it similarly as you do with most bluray players.
If downloading each jpg for each file is not your bag you can use an application like thumbgen to do it for you, but take care it is not always correct in it's selection.

Sweet deal on higher end point and shoot camera

http://www.henrys.ca/53826-CANON-POWERS ... ANGLE.aspx

Socktan's point and shoot was my inspiration to look along these series of Canon compacts in my very brief research. This has the same image processor as the G11 with a few lesser features to make it a bit smaller and cheaper. Considering my 3.2MP Canon A510 finally died the other day, I thought I'd best make a quick purchase online while the Boxing Day sales were on. I've heard nothing but love for Canon
Powershot series cameras.

ALso paid with PAYPAL and got $20 cashback. I think you have to go onto paypals site first and get directed to Henry's.

Monoprice have their colored cables on sale again $1.78 plus shipping for an orange 6 foot cable. $5.89 for one shipped to pei via usps. The price drops dramatically though if you order two or more, so bundle up with a friend. Different colors go on at other times. I like to have a color for each device.

I'm looking at getting these or similar product but wondering how often Newegg puts on a sale like this.

In other words, since this sale has expired, should I wait a bit or will I end up waiting possible months.

or are they like Paderno and have a sale almost every other week

Memory express is an excellent estore as well, bought many items there. This dock is $34.99 and the drive is $89.99 and any order over $100 is free shipping via canada post. So basically the same deal. Haven't used this dock with the wdtv but can't see why it wouldn't work. Some googling should turn up some more info as to any possible problems with the wdtv.
