Another media player at new egg
Brother bought one and I got a chance to try it out. Same chipset as oplay and patriot box office. Interface is plain but works well enough and this ships with a mini usb wifi stick that works well for 720p hd streaming and online radio etc. The jewel of this player though and why I feel it is worth $99 + gst to your door is that you can also install a 3.5" up to 2tb hard drive in it for extra storage and or portability of your media. With 2tb internal desktop drives some times selling for as little as $69 even with free shipping, that's sweet.
Oh did I mention the shipping on this was also free?

Patriot Box Office, $30 after mail in rebate!!
'Cheese and crackers', now that's a real cheap media player, just plug in your external drive with media loaded on it or stream it from your pc.
Can have a 2.5" lap top drive installed internally as well, 1 tb lap top drives are around $100 though.

Mathew Polk has a long history of making great speaker systems, though I find the latter years not quite as good, but still pretty decent. However I know nothing of how their wireless systems might be. You might search places like amazon for reviews from owners. Also try you tube for a video review. I always find some good reviews from ordinary people, and helpful when I am thinking of buying something there.

WDTV live+ get it for $84.99 at staples, in store. It is currently $139.99 at staples but is $89.99 in store at future shop. PM staples and take advantage of their -10% off the difference policy for an additional $5 off.
You might have to use your phone and take a pic of the fs shelf tag though as there is no on link to the fs price.

Under $40 shipped.
Yes there are far better, but reviews seem favorable for this on you tube etc, and though it does not support netflix etc it does support a host of other online content, and plays your HD files music etc, and from what I have seen of the interface on you tube it looks nice. Don't know anything of the hard ware or file support, other than multi file support is stated. It has the same remote as the wd tv live player but how much more it may have in common I know not. Might be worth a look for a player for that spare room or what have you. Wireless ready as well.
From You Tube
Tiger Direct Only obvious con is it is a refurb.

Western digital's newest player the wd tv live streaming device is on sale at dell for $89. Shows as $99 but has an instant savings of $10 when added to cart and the shipping is free. The new interface is gorgeous and includes media content scrapping from the internet like this.

From Dell
Any way for $89.99 plus gst it is a great deal, built in wifi and on line content as well.

Some customizing is possible also with themes such as mojo.

Pivos Aios media player for $90 shipped to your door, before $20 mail in rebate.
I know many don't like rebates and this one is a visa credit, but $20 is $20.
Any way nice player from NCIX, oh I forgot to mention it comes with a free wifi n usb adapter.

The unit has a bay for an internal 3.5" internal hard drive, and already supported with third party firmware. But hurry if you want one at this price as this sale ends at midnight tomorrow night.

Credit this thread from redflagdeals where I learned of this price
Price is updated daily and other deals for this player may arise if you miss this one, so check back to it to monitor when a price point you like comes about if you don't want to bite now.

Front page of this week's flyer. $23

Cheap alternative to a media player. Plays avi files even though not listed on description. I did read online that you can't plug in an external drive just USB sticks but that's okay...my wd live player doesn't seem to like external drives either.

Reviews are mixed on it (mostly as DVD player) but I figured for $23 and for our 3rd tv....I'd give it a whirl.
