according to the governments website there has never been a shark attack on PEI.

The largest shark was caught in 1983. See info at
http://new-brunswick.net/new-brunswick/ ... white.html

A fisherman out of Murray Harbour brought in a 500 pound shark a few years ago. It was not a great white.

LOL if it was caught in Tignish, ya can bet there was little left of the fish after the bullet holes.

Damn thing woulda looked like Bonnie and Clyde after the shootout!

The Shark in those pics was landed in Covehead as I was actually there on the wharf that day when it was strung up..I have a picture of me standing in front of it..It was one of the largest Great White Sharks ever landed in the world....

http://www.elasmo-research.org/educatio ... argest.htm

Sharks are very abundent in the waters off PEI but they are mostly Blue sharks and other species of smaller sharks..There is altho Great White sharks for sure, they come close to shore on occasion...I am still waiting for the day when there is an an ecounter with a shark and human at the North Shore...

Does anybody scuba dive?

I took a course and did a few dives off Souris and Cove Head. I was only 60 ft down. Floundering around like a seal in my black wet-suit.

Perhaps I was fishing for shark.. good thing I didn't get a bite. Anybody else been down there??
