I find oil companies much like Banks.....they don't offer discounts or waive fees, but if you ask they can certainly provide.

I've been with ultramar for 25 years now and I've always gotten my oil for 4 cents less per litre as what their posted rate is......and their service has always beed great!

We get 5 cents off with Island Petroleum. Noticed one time the discounted price wasn't on the bill so i called and they fixed it up by the end of the day.

We used to be with Island Petroleum but switched because it used to take forever to get an appointment for service, they were so booked up they had to hire contractors to help get caught up with their bookings. That was a couple of years ago and not sure what it is like for them now but we switched to Ultramar and other than one screw-up with a service call, there has been no complaints.

I used to get 4 cents off at ultramar as well with out the need of a group. Anyone can they need only demand it. Oil companies were even known to provide other perks like free oil tanks. My first steel tank was free from ultramar in 1990. I left them three years ago when I called for my yearly fill up and was told to have payment ready at the door, this even though I always payed the total before the end of the week. I couldn't be home at that time so I told them to forget about it. Remembered IP gave them a call, they were happy to provide and full payment within thirty days of delivery was fine. Been with them ever since. Found out later that the ultramar phone number dialed an out of province office and that if I had got a hold of the charlottetown branch I would of been treated differently. Too little too late. No great loss for them though I guess as I don't burn that much anyway.

our bill withthem is usually paid before the bill actually srrives ina lot of cases. heard before that there were bigger discounts to be had, went in to see them, was told we were lucky to be getting 2,5 off.

i pointed out our credit history, guy shrugged, said well, thats your business.... now i wait till thelast moment then pay it.

the oil companies are gouging us at the pumps and at home. kinda pisses you off when you hear others are getting twice the discount you are, for the same thing.

So far most I am hearing is 3-4 cents off.

First 2 calls...
Palmer offers 3 cents off and $100 credit at 1000 litres.
Co-Op offers a 4 cent rebate in the form of a annual check and 100 litres after 2nd delivery.

Got some more to call but discount ranges from 3-5 cents off.

Are the $100 credit and the 100 litres one-time deals, or does that happen every year?

Both are signup deals.

Was with Palmer Fuels and got 4 cents per litre. When I needed a furnace, Ultramar was offering 24 equal monthly payments and 0% int. And most importantly, they were not charging anymore for the furnace. They offered to match the 4 cent discount. So I went with the budget plan with them. Have them charge my Ultramar M/C and pay that every month. Saves extra 2% over the 4 cents.

any one else getting any other deals? after reading these, the paltry 2 cents we're getting from ip is sort of low.

as of now i'm leaning towards co-op.
