There is a new auto shop that opened in the Industrial Park, I drove by it today and it looks like they have some nice equipment in there. I heard they do a lot of work with imports and other specialty vehicles. My car needs some work and was thinking about giving them a try but I forget the name. It starts with a K I think. Also, has anyone had any experience with these guys? I know they have just opened recently, so I haven't heard too much yet.

Tim Bank's owns it. The mechanic there is very well trained from what I hear and has high training from luxury vehicle manufacturers. A car lot should be coming soon...

The mechanic used to work at the one in the home hardware in Stratford.

Well, I took my car in. Overall I liked the shop itself the the mechanics seemed knowledgeable and friendly. The labor rates were reasonable, but the quote I got for parts was ridiculously high. They quoted me $293 for a wheel hub for my car, I called up Buzzels and can get the same one for $160 from them. I understand there is some markup but over $130 on one part is pretty crazy. Even $160 for the part is pretty high, I can get one online for about $75.

If anyone takes their vehicle here I'd recommend to do a little research on prices before signing the dotted line.

Did they offer a free estimate or did they charge just to have a look?

I was charged for 1/2 hour labor which was ok with me.

Thanks for that. I don't think free estimates exist any more.

Are you 100% sure about that.. Cause everybody is saying Banks owns it.. However i did notice it says on a business card that Scott is the owner/operator.. So maybe he does or maybe its owned by the both of them..

Could it be that the land and building is owned by Tim Banks and leased to Scott Mcdonald, because that is more what Tim Banks is into isn't it ?

From the information I have, Tim owns it and as such, I'd take my car to it if I needed fixings.

I have been to the shop, very nice. All new equipment. It doesn't really matter who owns it. The big thing is the service.
ps. maybe some people use the bank to start a business and maybe some people used a different banks to start a business :?:

According to PEI Corporate Directory, King Kar is owned by Seawin Racing Inc., which was formally known as Southport Home Center Building Inc., and the President is Tim Banks. Of course I can't vouch for how up to date this is.

Anyone get any work done there yet? 4-wheel alignment in particular?

Need one done soon and looking for a place since my dealer doesn't do them in-house.

I'll likely be taking my car back next week to get some suspension parts put on which will require an alignment. I'll let you know how it goes
