I'm told it pisses people off to read old threads. To keep everyone happy, it's easier to start new ones.

Not bored. Personally I do nt see why there is a need to start new topics when a previous discussion that went on for 6+ pages should be ignored for a new thread. There is a purpose to the search function, and it works very well.

But to ensure everyone is playing fair, I am following the rules.

Lets use some common sense here.

I got no time to babysit.

by creating a new post to everything instead of replying?

For instance.

New Thread
Hi, my name is george.

You reply, hi george where are you from?

His reply in a new seperate thread, from halifax.

Me, merge all threads so they make sense.

i.e. this one is a combination of numerous threads he created, instead of replying to others posts, he created a whole new thread.

If it was to continue, soon the entire PEI Talk section would consist of new posts that should all be in the same thread (via replies and not a new thread option), which would look stupid.

Kratz has been banned and now he can't even defend himself. He was asked to stop digging up old relevant threads and to start new threads. He was following the letter of what was asked. Here is someone, who doesn't belittle, swear or get into personal attacks with other people while on line. These are stated in the forum guidelines and yet the he was banned for something that was not in the guidelines.

Oh please. It should be common sense that people should not be create an entire new thread instead of replying. He's been here for years and knows this.

Is it not common sense to reply to a thread if you wish to discuss it instead of creating a new one?

Every now and again he goes on a reviving old thread spree which annoys the membership. And every now and again we remind him not too. And also, every now and again he whines about being told not too.

I sent him 2 messages while he was on his new thread spree. Neither was replied too and he kept creating new threads. Do you really think I am going to let someone continue to create a bunch of new threads clogging up the 1st page of PEI Talk?

I did too at first, then I thought it should be in the less serious forum as I thought he was joking about something else....then he created 4 more new threads with the same non-sense.

Let's get this straight. When things get dull, I dig through discussions and see what topics are still current or are worth talking about. The topic that started this new dispute is the 10 year old talks like this? I felt it was relevant after seeing the spanking laws changed and grounding nearly becoming illegal.

Bringing up old threads is not an official breach of use for PEI Info, but I have been banned. People who are racist, are beligerant, are trolls ect....get away with far more than I have.

When asked to start new threads, I am banned and the blame is shifted onto me for following what I was asked to do. Sure I know new threads clog things up, but then that is what I have been trying to avoid by bringing up old threads.

Two messages to me? Yeah one when I could still log on and then one via Facebook. Next thing I know I am not even able to defend myself.

*shakes head*

Don't dig up threads from a year ago, people don't like that. You've been told this how many times now?

Your starting new threads sherade went too far. You started a new thread for every little thing your posted. Is it really that confusing kratz or are you just putting up a stink? Seeing how your replying in this thread, it would appear its a stink.

You were banned for constantly creating new threads instead of replying to a discussion in others. If I did not ban you, you would have continued and created at least 30 threads, thus clogging up the forum. No one wants this.
Its not that confusing.

I sent you two messages on PEIinfo and one on Facebook. None were replied too and yet you continued to create threads, so I put an end to your temper tantrum.

Nothing is confusing. Unless the posts are fun, fuzzy, warm and nobody makes the mods work then everything is fine.

Posting a new thread was in respons to your request to start new threads. I was only following the mods direction. I did not want to break any rules or anything, even if they are not posted.

But posting new threads was a temper tantrum and demanded an immediate ban? Ok. Yeah.

So the mass of people posting are so upset about old threads and multple threads are satisfied now. Great to know.

Back to the pablum that we were reading before I posted.
