Hey everyone!

I'm an Islander, born and raised.

I came up to Ontario back in 1995 to go to school. I got work up here, and have been here ever since.

Now, my wife and child and I are seriously making plans to move back to the Island, most likely in August.

My question is, does any one know of any possible job futures? My wife is taken care of, she's getting a transfer from her job here. But I'll need work, and it scares the you-know-what out of me to move sans job.

Any advice?
:)

Probably help if we knew what kind of work you were going to want.

Well, I'm currently working in radio, and have been for years. But radio is a tough industry to get into, and that is why I didn't even bother to mention it.

Ultimately it is more important that my family make this move, than have a job in my field.

So to answer your question, I'm interested in work. Working in the media is not a necessity. Putting chow on the table is much more important. :D

It seems like we have more radio stations per capita here than anywhere I've seen.
If I were you I would look into radio related jobs.

Pretend this is a job interview ...

what kinda music you looking to play?? What time slot works for ya ... and please tell me you have a face worthy of radio .....

CBC, The Guardian, the radio station ... all hire summer staff ... great way to get your foot in the door ....

There is always work available ... maybe not making the kinda money you may wish .. or in the field you want ... but being happy at what you are doing is the most important.
