70K is pretty well a king's ransom in PEI.

It's tough to meet people if you are single anywhere I suspect.

Good luck.

Put it this way. You can buy a small house within a half hour of town for what you make in a year. For a one bedroom apartment, you'll be looking around $600-$800 (depending on quality) heated in Charlottetown. Probably able to get a 2B within that range, actually. Unlike in Ontario, where it's pretty common to find places with all utilities included in your rent, it is fairly common to have to pay electricity when you live in apartments. I haven't seen any that charge for parking, as my last place in Ottawa did.

$70k is considered comfortable for a family with several kids. You will be living well here, as a single person with no dependents. Food costs more, but just wait until you hear how much your car insurance will drop. Ours went down about 60% when we moved here from Ottawa.

Lots of places to meet people. :)

My sister-in-law is looking for an apartment in Charlottetown right now. Either a one or two bedroom and it's not easy finding a nice apartment.

Yes, but not for another couple of years at least. Just wanted to see what was available and at what cost.
