I know my daughter hasn't had service most of today. Wonder if a tower got hit?

Also a ton of firetrucks and Police cars going during the storms today/tonight.

After once big bunch of lightning my network icon showed I was disconnected so I just rebooted my system and also cycled power to my router and cable modem, that fixed it.

Just talked to someone who works at Rogers, he said they have been told to say"the matter is being looked into and we have a crew dispatched to access the situation, further updates will be available later today ..."

So I assume ... no service today ...

Ahh I'm going nuts without my phone, when I called they told me "one of the towers in the greater charlottetown area was pretty much destroyed and crews will be working around the clock till service is restored"

hopefully sooner than later

I wonder if all the cranks and hypochondriacs are feeling better today since they aren't being bombarded by radiation

I was going to go with Rogers when I get my next phone, since they have so many choices, this will be a test to see how well they fix this major problem. I bet the Rogers phones stores sales will be a bit slow on Monday!

btw this is what happened and why some electrical device went off even when they weren't connect to any wires. Now imagine if it was a nuclear generated EMP! (look at the map)

ya ... i got bumped several times yesterday .. had a helluva time bootin up today .. sigh .. spent the past few hours .. running checks .. uninstalling and reinstalling my AVG - it would Not update .. sigh .. does now though! lol ..

Anyway ..lotsa fun .. and I don't have a power bar  (yet!) .. discovered very early on that the ones at dollar stores are worth every penny!! lol ..

btw .. I also (recently) discovered (what the techs knew all along! lol) .. taking the cover off my tower and vacuuming it out .. is a Good Idea! lol .. they get some dusty in there .. and 'apparently' them thar dust particles can play havoc with static n stuff of the like ..

also discovered that booting the crap outta my tower and the occasional kik somehow seems to 'inspire windows'! lol ..
(i don't recommend my methods! lol .. tower was cheap .. if it were new .. not a chance I'd play with it the way I do .... well ok .. there is a chance .. but .. just sayin! ;) )

WAsn't that Lightenning AWEsome!!

I was at Radio Shack/The Source today and they were getting lots of calls about Rogers cell service  I think it's going to be awhile before it's fixed if it's gone on this long, and businesses in most of the country will be closed Monday due to the civic holiday.

Actually a powerbar is just a fancy extension cord a surge suppressor actually has stuff in it to help prevent damage to whatever is plugged into it, either from a surge or a power dip.

Nothing will protect electronics from a direct hit, there's nothing in the world that can withstand millions of amps and survive.

Does anybody know where this Rogers tower might be? It must have been blown clear off the hill it was on for service to have been out this long. Would be nice to see the wreckage or maybe even someone who knows when my cell will work again.
