Can anybody supply some information on these two apartments. Some say the Dominion Bldg has a terrible reputation and to avoid it. A lot of seniors live at Chesapeake but I don't know whether it is a nice place or not. Looking for some feedback on both places.

Thank you.

Not sure about the other, but this is one of the discussions about the Dominion Building:

Do you qualify, age-wise, for the Chesapeake? I've heard good things about their other seniors "active living" apartments in Summerside.

I'd recommend giving the Dominion a pass unless things have changed dramatically (last time I talked to someone living there was last fall and things hadn't improved greatly).

Thanks for your reply, we are both seniors who plan to sell our home and are looking into suitable places to rent in the Charlottetown area, either downtown or in the Spring Park area.

Wonderful! :D

Good luck. We did the same thing thing ... sold house so we could live our active senior years downtown. That backfired on us because we chose the Dominion. But just as well that the Dominion soured the concept for us because it led us to come up with a different plan, one that has made us happy beyond our expectations.

My only reservation about the Chesapeake would be its location. I know the location wouldn't work for us, because while we were in transition between a Charlottetown lease ending in November and moving to Florida in January, we rented an apartment at the Rodd Royalty ... the traffic issues at certain times of the day were very frustrating and annoying. But the location might be ideal for others, especially if the facilities themselves are as good as advertised.

Where is the location of your picture? We golfed up at Legends in Clermont and there were a lot of orange groves up in that area.

Those orange groves are between our house and Bok Tower in Lake Wales ... about 40 miles south of Legends on US27

It looks like a really nice location. Legends and Kings Ridge in Clermont are two of our favourite courses. We usually stay near Kissimmee and it is only a short drive from there. One thing about Florida is that they have a great infrastructure of roads and highways and everything is well marked. Of course, they don't have problems with frost heaving the asphalt and damage from salt.
