According to sources close to Barry Thompson and Rob Newson the Thunder are off to Summerside. The very place there is no room for them unless they play out of Slemon Park.

Great for travel for the western kids for sure. Only downfall is the kids from the east will not go that far so Charlottetown will get some benefit from the move to. All in all Summerside and Charlottetown is where they should be unless the sources are wrong(shades of Bob MacKenzie and Iggy). It is going to be announced after Atlantics this week in Moncton I would guess. Less travel Woo Hoo!!

It is believed sponsors are being sought in Summerside already which could give the assumption the parties of interest already know or just hopefully being ready. Who Knows we'll have to wait and see.

Would be very surprised if it ends up in Summerside.

Back when the Thunder was first created SAMHA nor the City of Summerside would put in an offer, as none wanted to foot the losses. I cannot see that changing now, nor can I see any major sponsors around here for them.

However, I've been wrong before.
