Did anyone see Team Canada's new look for the Olympics and World Juniors? Socks made of the same material used in the Tour de France. They also have new jerseys designed by Nike.

Hmmm, they are certainly more form fitting, they make the players look smaller I think, which may be good, nothing better than your opponent underestimating you!! :D

The new jersey and socks weigh about 496 grams - or the weight of three hockey pucks - less than traditional jerseys.

But it will make them faster than the rest. Almost 20" advantage in a race just shy of the length of the ice surface.

Of course if everyone is wearing them there is no advantage gained, but they will still be faster. We will have to learn to watch faster to keep up.
