As you know, I had other things on my slate on Saturday (bad scheduling on my part  ), so I missed the race, but I cannot say that I am surprised ... that is three in a row won by Islanders on the Island (Kent Vincent and Kent Livingstone won the races last year). I admit to being a little surprised that the Islander to win it was Greg Proude, in only his 4th race on the Pro Stock Tour. And having Islanders finish one-two was a first (it has happened off-Island before but never happened on the Island).

Having so many (9) Island drivers (out of 38 total) on the Pro Stock Tour says a lot about the state of the sport here. Congrats to Greg Proude, Kent Vincent, Bobby Neilson, Kris Fournier, Darren Vanderaa, Kent Livingstone, Dale Holmes, Chris Hughes and Robbie MacLean.

Kreskin, technically it is seven drivers, as two usually do not make to many trips to N.S. tracks, so that's why when I did story on this for Journal after the race in Speedworld in June, and it was in Journal 3 weeks ago (Guardian didn't pick it up-shame) I said Seven..ok..plus when I did it on points it said TBA for one of the PEI drivers as his location

"Technically", there are now 11 drivers registered (and that's what makes it "technically" ... the registration) for the Pro-Stock Tour with Scott Livingstone's return to the tour last weekend in Shediac. Allan Vincent (Kent's dad) is registered but has yet to race.

Many of the registered drivers, from any of the provinces, run limited schedules. We are lucky to see 12-15 off-island drivers show up for the two events on the Island.

At Shediac last weekend, nine Island drivers competed, everyone except Bobby Nielson (who was competing in a PASS Tour race in the States) and Alan Vincent, participated in the Dodge Dealers 100. And they all made the show (8 cars did not qualify during the trials) so 9 of 28 starters is not a bad ratio considering our population in comparison to our neighbouring provinces, eh?

thats awesome,..just when i did the report/writeup in paper in june/early July...it was seven..i had counted full time riders, one pt and one BOBBY NEILSEN was listed as TBA...but 11 is even better..I thought scott was an Islander that's kool, tho the tour has limited number of spots for each track which makes it hard for all 11 to make it in a race during any weekend..they should move it from 28 to 30 starters...then they wouldn't have 5-7 cars going home each day after qualifying...

You have to consider the size of the tracks they are racing on (1/4 to 3/8 mi) and the safety factor. NASCAR only allows 43 on ovals that are from 1/2 to 2.5 mi.
