[quote="Lupinlady"]Oh and I thought we were all only about 29..I wish :)

Dire, I so much wanted to get in contact with my best friend from wayyy long time ago in Montreal, I think last time I saw her we were about 12yrs old.
So clever me or so I thought, looked up her surname, as she had a brother Bobby, and I come across this Robert Harris in Montreal, so I took a deep breath and dialed the number...my God I wish I never had, as this lady answered and I said I was looking fo a Robert Harris as I was trying to get in touch with my school friend from yrs ago....
She was really upset and angry and kept saying " that she wasnt interested in anything I was trying to sell" I tried to explain, then she came out with..I have just buried the said Robert and do not want to be bothered by tele sales and slammed the phone down!

Of course I regret that, but if she really did think I was trying to sell something, she would not let me explain...then if Robert was her husband who had just died, how would you react?.

Trouble is when girls grow up, more often or not they marry and change their names and it becomes so difficult to trace them.
I emailed I think it was the Montreal Star and they said yes I could put it in the paper.."looking for" but that I may get some weird replies, so left it at that...But I dearly would love to know where my friend is, I have such a lot of pics taken all those yrs ago, one where we were in our school uniform with our hands clasped as if in prayer looking down..good little catholic girls :)

Who knows dire maybe one day eh?

The timing was definitely not the best for the phone call, but don't beat yourself up, there was no way you could possibly have known.

Robert Harris seems like it could be a common name also.
A bit morbid but perhaps you could search the obits for around that time, it might include a survived by (sister) and other names you might recognize.
Other thoughts have you considered classmates.com as a possible source ? The problem with that to get any serious info you have to become a paying member, and of course there are no guarantees. There are other similar sites like gradfinder.com but not many people know about those, so although free, not many people are signed up.

It is amazing what you can find on the internet in such a short amount of time....

that's what I was saying... it might not be the same bands.. but they're the same types of bands.... and there are some repeats in that list.. there should be more of a variety.. there are some local hip hop artists that are really good... but they seem to have been excluded... how about a country artist?
[quote="nyrangers63"]Yep, Sloan & Slowcoaster are playing August 8th, and Serena Ryder & Sarah Harmer are playing August 15th.

There are all kinds of people who come from off-Island to see the FOL Riki, i happen to know quite a few myself that came to see The Hip. And the show was sold out, so no more people could go.

I'm not sure if Feist is sold out yet or not Riki, but you can go to www.confederationcentre.com and if you go to buy tickets, it'll show you exactly which seats are sold, and which (if any) are still available.

Feist isn't sold out yet... from what I can tell anyway.. but the tickets are bit too pricey for someone who doesn't have an income..

I'd like to go to all 3 of the concerts for OHW... but would have to pick one, cuz I can't aford all 3. I probably would forgo Sloan to ses Prairie Oyster and Dave Gunning... Dave is kinda sorta a friend of the family.. or, well... he used to be. it's kinda complicated.. *L*...
